NEPAL - SUPPORTING GOVERNMENT PLANNING IN BUILDING CLIMATE RESILIENCE. (World Bank-ADB TA-7524). (South Asia Region)

Provided services of Team Leader (Climate Change Adaptation Specialist) to assist the government of Nepal, through broad-based stakeholder consultation, in the design and development of the US$110 million Strategic Program for Climate Resilience funded under the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) which is part of the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF) of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF). 


Work undertaken includes:


(a) a stocktaking and desk review of climate change projects/programs and national sustainable development policies/programs/projects; 


(b) the design of a SPCR prioritization planning process which includes a vulnerability assessment, risk assessment at the community/sectoral/district/ national levels, an adaptive capacity assessment, a resiliency assessment, and cost/benefit analysis leading to the identification and prioritization of priority SPCR investments; see:

(c) the design of SPCR implementation framework including administrative process to manage projects implementation, and the fiduciary management framework to ensure efficient, transparent and timely disbursements of PPCR funds.
